Networking Classes
Networks are everywhere. When you connect internet devices in your home, you create a network! Perhaps you are considering a career in networking. Maybe you are just curious about how the devices in your home are connected. In the Exploring Networking with Packet Tracer course, you use Packet Tracer to set up, manage, and monitor a small office network. Cisco’s Packet Tracer network simulation tool is your introduction to networking! All you need is a computer and an internet connection! Let’s get started!
Exploring Networks with Cisco Packet Tracer
The Getting Started with Cisco Packet Tracer course is designed for new users of the Cisco Packet Tracer network simulation and visualization tool. Whether you are a student with no networking knowledge, a student with some background in networking, or a student currently enrolled in a course that requires the use of Packet Tracer, this course will get you started! The free Cisco Packet Tracer software helps you to practice your network configuration and troubleshooting skills using your desktop or laptop computer. It allows you to simulate networks without having access to physical equipment. In addition to networking, you can learn, and then practice your Internet of Things (IoT) and Cybersecurity skills. You can choose to build a network from scratch, use a pre-built sample network, or complete lab assignments. While Packet Tracer is not a replacement for practicing on physical routers, switches, firewalls, and servers, it provides many benefits!

The Internet of Things (IoT) is vast. Sensors, actuators, and “smart” devices work together to collect and share data such as temperature, humidity, water levels, power, speed and so much more. Right now there are factories that are automated using the IoT and farms that have sensors which tell irrigation systems to water specific areas. You already know about self-driving cars and refrigerators that can place an order for grocery delivery. This is all part of the IoT and it is still growing. In the Exploring IoT with Packet Tracer course, you take a simple home network and turn it into a smart home network. Cisco’s Packet Tracer network simulation tool is your introduction to all things IoT. All you need is a computer and an internet connection! Let’s go!

The Networking Basics course teaches the fundamentals of networking by covering the basic concepts and skills needed to set up and manage your small office or home office (SOHO) network. The learner is presented with an engaging and exploratory view of networks, the devices that comprise them, how they work, and basic troubleshooting tools and techniques. The goal of this course is to provide the learner with an engaging, exploratory view of networks, including the internet.
Networking Basics
If you know the basics of networking, then get ready to strengthen your foundation. A strong networking background is key if you are interested in exciting fields such as Cybersecurity and Network Development (DevNet) or want to continue towards a networking certification like Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). This course covers the essentials of network devices and how to configure them. Learn the characteristics and benefits of Cloud and Virtualization technologies. Explore how to provide Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to devices both manually and automatically. Using this knowledge, you will calculate an IP addressing scheme, configure Cisco devices to create a small network, and test for connectivity issues.
Networking Devices & Initial Configuration
You already know a strong networking background can open the door to rewarding career opportunities in tech. Deepen your knowledge and gain valuable skills needed to start a professional career. This course explores key concepts for Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and basic network troubleshooting. Learn about the physical, data link, and network layers and how they work together to provide end-to-end connectivity. Understand how IP addresses are calculated and assigned. Then practice your troubleshooting skills to keep a network up and running.
Network Addressing and Basic Troubleshooting
If you're interested in a career in IT, a support help desk role is a common starting point for entry-level network technicians. In this course, you will learn the basics of network and user support, which are essential for a successful career in networking. You'll start with learning how to support endpoints, networks, and users by diagnosing problems and documenting them. Then, you'll move on to working as a part of a help desk team and troubleshooting networks and endpoints. Finally, you'll learn how to remotely support users and access networks. This course will give you the knowledge and skills you need to be successful in IT.
